John Davidson, a Tourette syndrome campaigner, will attend the Bafta Scotland awards ceremony scheduled for November but will watch it from a separate "relaxed" space within the venue. This decision follows an independent review by Bafta (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) after his outburst at the February British Academy film awards caused significant controversy. In a letter to members, Sara Putt, chair of Bafta, and Jane Millichip, CEO, stated that Bafta has strengthened its safeguarding processes in consultation with experts. Davidson will watch the ceremony via video link, as suggested by him, with his family and friends present. The film based on Davidson's life, titled I Swear, leads with seven nominations at the awards, including three for best actor.
