In his second senior cabinet change within three weeks, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday reshuffled key positions to align better with his agenda. Arrmanatha Nasir, former permanent representative to the UN, was appointed as the new foreign minister to replace Sugiono, who is now coordinating minister for human development. Additionally, Muhammad Sarmuji from the Golkar party became the minister of industry, replacing Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman will serve as coordinating minister for political and security affairs, while Bahlil Lahadalia was appointed to a new position as coordinating minister for downstreaming and energy transition. This reshuffle comes amid criticism and is aimed at restoring credibility by addressing some of Prabowo's previous impulsive foreign policy decisions, though his role as the country’s chief diplomat remains unchanged.
