Kevin Raymond Doyle, a 62-year-old Australian truck driver, was sentenced in the Brisbane Supreme Court to 19 years' imprisonment for facilitating the sexual abuse of 25 children in the Philippines, including some with severe disabilities. His non-parole period is set at 12 years. The AFP launched an investigation after Australian Border Force officers found child sexual abuse material on his phone when he was stopped upon arrival from the Philippines at Brisbane International Airport in October 2019. Doyle admitted to spending $5,000 over three years to livestream 28 child sex abuse shows and attempted twice to travel to the Philippines to sexually abuse children observed in these shows but failed to do so upon arrival. The investigation led to the rescue of seven victims aged between five and twenty. Sheila Portento from the Philippine National Police emphasized that every child deserves safety, dignity, and a future free from exploitation.
