The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) announced the establishment of Eastern and Western conferences this season, expanding to an eight-team playoff format. The 12-team league will start play on Dec. 5, concluding on April 18. Teams in the Eastern Conference include the Boston Fleet, PWHL Hamilton, Montreal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge, and Toronto Sceptres. Western Conference teams are PWHL Detroit, PWHL Las Vegas, Minnesota Frost, PWHL San Jose, Seattle Torrent, and Vancouver Goldeneyes. Each team will play 30 regular-season games, with the top four in each conference advancing to playoffs featuring best-of-three first-round series and best-of-five for subsequent rounds, culminating in a best-of-five final for the Walter Cup.
