The Royal Navy's newest Astute-class nuclear-powered submarine, HMS Agamemnon, arrived at its home port in Scotland at Faslane Naval Base on HM Naval Base Clyde. The vessel is the sixth in the navy's arsenal and joins other advanced submarines like HMS Astute, Ambush, Artful, Audacious, and Anson. Equipped with Tomahawk land-attack missiles and torpedoes capable of striking targets up to 30 miles away, HMS Agamemnon is one of the most powerful attack submarines in operation. Rear Admiral Andy Perks highlighted the arrival as a "significant milestone," reflecting the dedication of thousands involved in its construction and preparation for sea trials and operational readiness. The submarine, measuring 318ft (97m) long, departed from BAE Systems in Barrow last week and successfully conducted its first dive during exercises in the Inner Hebrides.
