On Saturday, Kansas defeated Middle Tennessee 55-0 in Lawrence, Kansas, ending their two-game losing streak. Dylan Edwards rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns, marking his first 100-yard rushing game with the Jayhawks and the third of his career. Quarterback Isaiah Marshall contributed with 110 rushing yards on just 11 carries, adding another touchdown pass to Middle Tennessee transfer Nahzae Cox.
Kansas dominated in total yardage, outgaining Middle Tennessee by a margin of 706-136, largely thanks to an impressive rushing attack that generated 480-55 more yards compared to the Blue Raiders. The Jayhawks' defense shone by limiting Middle Tennessee to just seven first downs and 3.2 yards per play. Edwards scored his second touchdown in the third quarter with a 12-yard run, while Marshall hit Cox on a long 34-yard pass for a touchdown.
Kansas took an early lead after settling for a field goal due to penalties but then extended their advantage to 10-0 when Edwards made an 8-yard touchdown run. By halftime, Kansas led 17-0, with Edwards having already amassed 89 rushing yards.
