Alexandra Gelis, a Colombian-Venezuelan artist, made her debut at Nuit Blanche on October 7, 2026, marking both her participation in the 20th anniversary of the event and her 20th year living in Canada. Her installation, titled “In Water, Together,” featured five tall electronic panels flashing scenes of flowing water from various locations around the world, including Ontario, the Dolomites, Alaska, and Argentina. When visitors approached the panels, the displays would dynamically adjust to their movements, mirroring the shape of their bodies with flowing water imagery. Gelis aimed to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation and its transformative nature across different environments. Despite some technical glitches being worked on prior to the event, a few early visitors were already taking photos of the mesmerizing visuals.
