At the Bentway in Toronto, Paul Ramirez Jonas' installation "Public Trust" is part of a travelling historical exhibition called "Broken Promises," co-curated by the Royal British Columbia Museum and the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre in Vancouver. Visitors work with guides to create public promises that are displayed on a large board within ten minutes. The marquee displays these participant-generated pledges alongside those culled from news headlines, engaging passersby in discussions about societal commitments and broken promises.
