Christian Benford, a starting cornerback for the Buffalo Bills, was listed as inactive due to a toe injury for their game against the New England Patriots on Sunday in Orchard Park, New York. Benford did not practice during the week after getting injured in a previous win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Bills' defense is thin at cornerback with only rookie Davison Igbinosun and veteran Dee Alford as backups. In preparation for Benford's absence, the team promoted defensive backs Te’Cory Couch and Kani Walker from their practice squad. Additionally, the Patriots are also facing depleted defense with missing starting cornerback CB Christian Gonzalez and tackle DT Christian Barmore due to shoulder injuries. Coach Joe Brady did not provide a return date for Benford.
