Luke Humphries, ranked second in the world, won the World Grand Prix in Leicester with a 6-4 victory over Gerwyn Price on an eventful night that ended his 16-month drought for a PDC major trophy. Despite trailing 3-0 initially, Humphries showed remarkable resilience by winning four consecutive sets to take control of the match and ultimately secure the title. This is Humphries' second World Grand Prix win, after his triumph in 2023 which propelled him towards becoming world number one. The victory also ensures he retains his position above Gian van Veen from the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Price's fourth-year wait for a major PDC title continues as he loses another final, making it five consecutive losses this year alone.
