The National Energy System Operator (NESO) in Britain issued an electricity margin notice on Tuesday to encourage more back-up power generation from 3pm to 11pm, as a precautionary measure. NESO anticipates a shortfall of 1,880 MW during peak hours and aims to increase the safety cushion between supply and demand. The organization stressed that this move is routine and does not indicate an immediate risk of power cuts or insufficient generation capacity.
