Paul Ferris, a former crime boss who turned author after serving time for his criminal activities, died at 62 years old on Tuesday at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow. The news was shared by photographer Brian Anderson via Facebook, stating that it would be shocking to those familiar with various stages of Ferris's life.
Ferris spent 25 years away from crime after being involved with Arthur "The Godfather" Thompson Sr., and he wrote several best-selling books during his reformed period. Despite facing a murder charge in 1991 for the death of Thompson Jr., Ferris was acquitted but experienced a vendetta against him, resulting in two of his friends' deaths on the day of Thompson Jr.'s funeral.
During his incarceration, Ferris co-authored his debut book, "The Ferris Conspiracy," with Reg McKay, which was published in 2001. After viewing a film based on his life, he expressed that it was an emotional and humbling experience.
