Dr Vincent Brown, formerly Dr Vincent Bajinya, 65, accused of participating in the 1994 Rwanda genocide, will face trial starting from October 4, 2027, at the Old Bailey in London. He is charged with one count of conduct ancillary to genocide and six offenses related to murder as crimes against humanity during the genocide that killed an estimated 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus over 100 days. Brown appeared via video link from Belmarsh prison for a pre-trial hearing where Judge Cheema-Grubb set provisional trial dates spanning eight to twelve weeks in autumn next year. He has indicated he will plead not guilty to the charges against him, making this the first case of its kind in the UK.
