Protesters against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have been camping near an Arizona border wall construction site since mid-summer to delay its progress. A correspondent from BreakThrough News, an outlet under congressional investigation for ties to China, spent five days profiling the protest, calling it a fight against "U.S. imperialism." BreakThrough News has received millions of dollars from nonprofit groups linked to Neville Singham, a Marxist donor based in China. The outlet also recently merged with another Chinese-linked media organization covering events in Shanghai. Local news reports show protesters blocking vehicles and sitting on construction equipment, leading to arrests for trespassing and assault. Despite protests, construction workers tore down a tree the activists had named "Grandmother," causing outrage among the demonstrators.
