A 29-year-old man from Canberra has been denied bail for allegedly shooting at a vehicle, seriously injuring a teenage passenger. The incident occurred around 10pm on Friday night in Conder's south region. According to police reports, four teenagers were traveling in a red Ford Falcon when they encountered another car, a red Hyundai i30 hatchback. As the vehicles proceeded down Tom Roberts Avenue towards Box Hill Avenue and Tharwa Drive, the driver of the Hyundai allegedly shot at the Ford, hitting one of the passengers in the back seat. Police provided initial medical assistance before transporting the injured teen to hospital via ACT Ambulance Service with serious injuries. Following an extensive search of the area, police apprehended a man hiding near Greaves Place and subsequently arrested him outside his home on Gordon where he was seen entering a red Audi. The suspect now faces charges related to using a firearm to endanger human life in court.
