A 70-year-old man named Rodney Ameile Saba, who lives in Santa Clarita, California, faces federal arson charges after allegedly starting the devastating Bouquet Fire on October 3rd. According to investigators, just before an explosion was heard and flames began racing up a hillside behind his home on Bouquet Canyon Road, Saba warned a neighbor of an impending loud bang similar to a shotgun blast. Law enforcement claims that Saba admitted throwing a cigarette onto fireworks, causing them to explode and ignite the wildfire. The fire burned 1,048 acres of federally owned land in the Angeles National Forest. As part of federal prosecutors' charges, Saba could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
