On Saturday, ANO, a political group led by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, was ahead in the first round of voting for one-third of the seats in the Senate. With results from over 93% of polling stations counted, ANO had the most candidates qualify for the runoff elections next week, with 13 candidates advancing. This victory could solidify Babiš's influence in the Czech Republic’s Parliament, as his party dominates both the lower house and now shows strength in the Senate.
