On October 12, the Russian Defence Ministry claimed it conducted drone strikes on several targets within Ukraine, including vessels transporting military cargo destined for Odesa and Mykolaiv ports. The ministry specifically mentioned hitting two ships bound for Odesa and one heading to Mykolaiv. On October 13, Acting Regional Governor Heorhii Reshetilov reported via Telegram that Russian drones had damaged a cargo terminal in the port city of Mykolaiv during overnight attacks. Meanwhile, on the same day, the Russian Defence Ministry also stated it hit a ship delivering military and dual-use cargo to Mykolaiv without specifying if any energy facilities were targeted. Reuters could not independently verify these claims from both days.
