Quick Summary

Police released CCTV footage showing a suspect they believe is connected to two separate hammer attacks in Sydney’s north-west that injured elderly men, ages 75 and 71. The first attack occurred around 9pm on Tuesday at an Eastwood home, followed by another near the same location in Somerville Park early Wednesday morning. Both victims were hospitalized with serious but stable conditions. Investigators are seeking additional dashcam footage from nearby roads to aid their inquiry into the attacker, described as a man in his 30s, around 170 centimeters tall, wearing a dark tracksuit and white shoes, carrying what appears to be a hammer in a shopping bag.
