An 18-year-old Arizona teenager named Jordan Hope noticed an older gentleman, known publicly as Mr Roy, outside a Walgreens in Maricopa with shoes nearly falling off his feet. Moved by Mr Roy's condition, Hope gave him his own pair of shoes. During their conversation, Hope learned that Mr Roy had recently lost his wife about two weeks earlier and decided to help further by buying candy for him and arranging lunch. After the initial act of kindness, Hope launched a GoFundMe campaign titled "Care for Mr. Roy in His Time of Need," which has raised around $25,000 to cover Mr Roy's essential expenses like groceries, medicine, transportation, and other necessities. The encounter was recorded by bystander Yareli Madrid and shared on Facebook, sparking a community effort to support the elderly man.
