Stanislav Carpiuc, a 28-year-old Romanian national born in Ukraine, has been deported from the UK after being convicted for his involvement in arson attacks targeting properties linked to former Prime Minister Keir Starmer in May 2025. The attacks included setting fire to a car and two houses while Starmer was in office as prime minister. Carpiuc, who received a two-year prison sentence in June, had been plotting the attacks alongside his Ukrainian friend Roman Lavrynovych, who was sentenced to seven years for carrying out the actual arson. According to court testimony, the pair were instructed and promised payment by an anonymous Russian Telegram user known as EL Money, part of what is believed to be a Russian online sabotage network. The Home Office spokesperson emphasized that such acts are "abhorrent" and warned potential perpetrators about severe consequences. While the exact destination of Carpiuc's deportation was not specified, it signals the UK government’s intent to address threats from foreign actors.
