Thelma Candelaria, a 47-year-old mother of seven from Eloy, Arizona, died on October 19, 2026, after being struck by a train while livestreaming her morning run on Snapchat. Wearing noise-canceling headphones that blocked out warning sounds and horns, Candelaria was hit by an oncoming train as she filmed another passing train from the opposite direction. The Eloy Police Department confirmed her death at the scene. Her daughter Alaisha, 29, used surveillance footage and social media posts to understand what happened. A GoFundMe campaign has raised over $11,000 for Candelaria's seven children, including her eldest child who will now head the household.
