Story summary

B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights organization, released a report on Monday warning that Israel is executing a systematic campaign to dismantle “Palestinian collective life” in the West Bank and establish permanent Jewish-Israeli sovereignty there. The report claims this effort has accelerated since late 2022 under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, particularly after Hamas' October 2023 attack on southern Israel. B’Tselem argues that these actions are part of a long-term settler colonial framework aimed at erasing the Palestinian presence in the occupied West Bank. The group documents what it describes as mechanisms used to "ethnically cleanse" Palestinians from the territory, impacting all aspects of their daily lives.
