The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET), based in Accra, has reported that Africa's job market is failing to provide decent work opportunities for young people. According to the report, less than one in five working young Africans have health coverage or social security, and only a quarter receive paid holiday leave. Additionally, about a third of young Africans are employed in informal agricultural roles. ACET highlighted that small- to medium-sized firms in technology, pharmaceuticals, and construction offer better job growth and employment conditions compared to larger businesses. Mona Iddrisu from ACET emphasized the need for more focus on these sectors to absorb more youth workers without diluting benefits.
