A bus carrying workers associated with Iren, a data centre company in Mackenzie, B.C., crashed early Wednesday morning south of Highway 39, resulting in multiple injuries. The Mackenzie RCMP reported serious injuries but did not specify the number of victims or their conditions. Local hospitals declared a Code Orange mass casualty event, and several ambulances, including an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. Highway 39 is expected to remain closed for several hours while emergency personnel provide medical care and investigate the crash. Mackenzie Secondary School confirmed that no school buses were involved in the incident but sent one to support the situation. The data centre company expressed immediate concern for those affected and their families, offering support to emergency responders and investigators.
