As of November 4, 2026, two people died, including the suspect, after a shooting at a Citibank office complex near Tampa, Florida. The incident occurred around noon when multiple reports of gunshots prompted police to respond to an "active threat" at the sprawling business campus in Brandon, approximately 15 miles from Tampa.
The gunman drove his car over several medians and crashed into an outdoor seating area before entering the building and fatally shooting a woman. An armed Citibank security guard confronted the suspect in the cafeteria, where the suspect was shot and later died at the hospital. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office confirmed it was a targeted incident involving 3,200 employees on-site at the time.
The complex remains secure with additional safety measures being implemented by Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser, who stated that they are cooperating closely with local law enforcement to understand the full details of what transpired.
