On November 6, 2026, Saudi Arabia denied a report by the Wall Street Journal claiming that Yemen’s Houthis had demanded $51 billion from Saudi Arabia in return for ceasing hostilities. The WSJ reported that the kingdom had approached the Houthis to negotiate an end to the ongoing conflict, but Ambassador Rayed Krimly, Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy, called these claims "pure fabrication" on X. He further accused the Houthis of causing famine and dragging Yemen into conflicts against its interests.
