Blake Snell, the injured star pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, showed signs of recovery on Friday after leaving his last game in Cincinnati due to a left groin injury. Despite only pitching one inning before being sidelined, Snell reported that his groin was back up to an "8 out of 10" and participated in flat-ground catch play at Dodger Stadium. Manager Dave Roberts expressed optimism about Snell's return before the playoffs begin.
The Dodgers' rotation is critical given recent injuries in the bullpen and inconsistent offensive performance this season. The team heavily relied on its starters last year, when a key rotation including Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, and Shohei Ohtani (who will be replaced by Tarik Skubal this year) helped secure their second consecutive World Series title.
