On Tuesday, about 16 Hong Kong students from Maryknoll Secondary School in Kwun Tong fell ill after drinking free bottles of "Scream" sports drink near the Hammer Hill Road Sports Ground in Wong Tai Sin during a school athletics meet lunch break. Some students noticed suspicious pinhole marks on the bottles, leading to police involvement when a parent called them at 2pm. Officers searched trash bins and examined discarded plastic bottles. A day later, police reported finding no foreign or toxic substances in the drinks, suggesting that the "pinholes" were likely perforated lines in the drink’s plastic wrapping rather than evidence of tampering.
