Kirk Cousins, quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, is a frontrunner for the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year award according to comments by fellow quarterback Russell Wilson. Through two games this season, Cousins has thrown for 413 yards with six touchdowns and completed 67.8% of his passes, making him one of three quarterbacks aged 38 or older in NFL history to start a season with at least three passing touchdowns in each of the first two games, alongside Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Wilson praised Cousins for handling criticism well and predicted he would win the award if he keeps performing at this level. The Raiders have no immediate plans to start their rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza, indicating they will continue using Cousins as their starter until he shows signs of decline.
