On September 25, Joshua Cammidge, a 31-year-old British man from Swindon, appeared in London's Old Bailey court. He is charged with assisting a foreign intelligence service and preparing an act of sabotage after allegedly communicating with the GRU Volunteer Corps, linked to Russia’s GRU military intelligence agency. According to prosecutors, Cammidge exchanged messages with a UK national who had gone to Russia to fight against Ukraine, discussing plans to locate drone manufacturing sites in Britain and potentially sabotaging them. The court was informed that Cammidge also conducted research on Wi-Fi jamming devices and performed reconnaissance activities aimed at aiding the Russian war effort. His trial is scheduled for next year, with no pleas required during this appearance.
