Costco announced plans to open 33 new locations in the United States for fiscal year 2027, bringing it closer to its goal of adding 30 net new stores annually. CEO Ron Vachris revealed this during a recent earnings call, noting that the company spent $6.4 billion on capital projects in fiscal 2026 and expects to invest about $7.5 billion for the new locations. Specific details of the 19 additional sites are not yet disclosed due to Costco’s policy of withholding information on openings more than three months away, but five stores slated for October opening were named: Lee’s Summit, Missouri; The Colony, Texas; Amherst, New York; Lawrence, Kansas, and Camarillo, California.
