A senior web developer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Queensland, Antonio Tran, faces potential job loss due to allegations that he stored pornographic material on his work computer and submitted fake timesheets. In July, after an investigation confirmed these claims, Tran was informed that his employment might be terminated. Initially suspended with pay since January 23, Tran’s status changed to suspension without pay from August 10 until November 9. He appealed this decision, arguing financial hardship due to the lack of permanent accommodation and pending Centrelink payments. The Queensland Industrial Relations Commission ruled against Tran's appeal for continued payment during his suspension, citing concerns over his ability to repay any potential compensation if he lost his job appeal.
