Phil Campbell, guitarist for Motorhead from 1984 until the band disbanded in 2015, died at age 64 on March 13 due to multi-organ failure, according to an inquest held at St Pancras Coroner’s Court. The Welsh rockstar had undergone multiple surgeries and suffered complications from a liver transplant that could not have been prevented, leading to his death. Dr. Richard Brittain, the coroner, ruled there was nothing preventable about Campbell's death, as it resulted from recognized surgical procedure complications. Previously battling Hepatitis-C, which was successfully treated, Campbell had also struggled with alcohol addiction but was sober for seven years before his passing. Motorhead helped pioneer heavy metal music in Britain and achieved significant success with albums like Ace Of Spades, No Sleep Til Hammersmith, and Iron Fist.
