Kaiyah Kennedy, 12, and Treyvon Te Tahi Bradshaw, 13, both from Queensland's Gold Coast, died within six days of each other in September and early October. Both were part of the Coomera Cutters Rugby League Club; Kaiyah was a former player while Treyvon played for the team at the time of his death on September 26. The boys' deaths have left their families, teammates, and community deeply mourning. Fundraisers set up to support the families had raised over $50,000 as of Tuesday morning. Club leaders emphasized the importance of reaching out for help regarding mental health issues, urging players and children to talk to coaches or parents if they feel alone. The club is already involved in mental health initiatives but plans to increase its efforts to raise awareness and support local youth.
