The Capital Police in Islamabad, Pakistan, have implemented a strict ban on the use of social media for all personnel, including officers and employees. A new policy signed by the deputy inspector general of police headquarters mandates that no one is allowed to speak at public forums, publish articles in print media, or express opinions or issue official statements on social media without prior approval. Additionally, taking videos or photographs while wearing a police uniform for personal publicity is strictly prohibited. The ban also forbids uploading any confidential or official documents, photos, or their contents on social media platforms. Violations of these rules will result in strict departmental action according to relevant regulations.
