Ukrainian forces launched an offensive operation codenamed "Vivaldi" in the north of the eastern Donetsk region on September 15, according to Brigadier-General Andrii Biletskyi. The third army corps cleared a total area of 85 square kilometers, removing Russian infiltration groups from 75 sq km and recapturing an additional 10 sq km. General Biletskyi highlighted the strategic importance of this region, which includes key cities like Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, part of what is referred to as a "fortress belt." These areas are critical because capturing them would significantly advance Russia's goal of seizing control over the entire Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces also disrupted Russian military logistics by taking back three villages with one village, Serednie, now fully under Ukrainian control again.
