Meta Platforms is enhancing the safety warning in its new AI assistant app Muse, following a security researcher's discovery of a vulnerability that could allow attackers to access sensitive user information. The flaw, reported through Meta’s bug bounty program, was initially classified as "SEV-2," one of three highest severity levels on a five-point scale, indicating significant potential impact.
Sensor Tower estimates that Muse had about 2.8 million downloads in its first two weeks since launch, placing it atop the free-app charts in both the United States and Canada. This rapid rise prompted Meta to take immediate action after identifying the security issue.
