Hangzhou-based DeepSeek, a Chinese company, has released six software tools designed to support Huawei's AI chips in competing with those made by Nvidia, aiming to build an "independent and controllable" software ecosystem for GPUs. The suite includes a version of TileLang, a custom programming language optimized for high-performance computations on GPUs and central processing units (CPUs). This updated TileLang now officially supports Huawei's Ascend 950 accelerators alongside Nvidia’s systems, enabling native code generation, automatic scheduling, and synchronization. These efforts reflect China’s push towards developing its own AI chip technologies independent of Western companies like Nvidia.
