On Thursday, Edward Charles Reynolds Warnes, 28, a gardener at Sydney's prestigious Cranbrook School since February, was arrested in Rydalmere by Australian Federal Police (AFP) investigators from Eastern Command Child Protection Operations. The arrest followed reports from the US National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children about child abuse material being uploaded online. AFP seized electronic devices from Warnes' property that allegedly contained images depicting both real and animated children. Green by Nature, which holds the contract for Cranbrook’s garden maintenance, employed Warnes as a horticultural assistant. Dr Anne Johnstone, head of Cranbrook School, confirmed in a statement to parents on Friday that the school is not involved in the police investigation but assured transparency regarding the situation involving their employee.
